What is this event all about?

The Garden of Tomorrow is Tigermountain Foundation's effort to bring community building to new heights by revitalizing and beautifying areas with vibrant community gardens. The idea is to make the community garden the fulcrum or center piece of bringing together artists, businesses, churches, community centers and other proactive stakeholders. Garden events can be for a cause, entertainment purposes or just good old down home camaraderie. Affordable vegetables and job capacity building are also ingredients in the TMF garden effort.

You, the volunteers, are needed to maintain the Garden of Tomorrow and keep alive this unique garden experience. Specific tasks include composting, light weeding in plots, maintaining the chicken coop, picking fruits and vegetables, general clean up, and enjoying a BBQ together afterward! Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves, bottle of water, and a healthy food item for the BBQ following the project.

Minimum age for this project is 6 years old with a parent/guardian. Volunteers who are 16 or 17 years old need to bring a signed Youth Volunteer Waiver to volunteer without a parent or guardian.

By signing up for projects and not attending, you may be depriving someone else of the opportunity to participate and the project of much-needed support. Please note that in an effort to accommodate volunteers who sign up for projects by choice, HandsOn does not accept court ordered volunteers and will not sign off on any court related documents.
